When we moved from Hawaiʻi to Idaho, we were excited to start a new chapter in our lives. One thing I knew for certain was that I wanted to get back into Jiu Jitsu after spending several years away from the mats. The hardest part wasn't deciding to train again, it was finding a place that truly felt like home.
I wasn't just looking for a gym. I wanted an academy with exceptional instructors, strong values, and a community that felt like family. We were fortunate enough to find all of that here at Alliance.
When our daughter turned four, we enrolled her in the Baby Eagles program. Watching her excitement every time she stepped onto the mats and seeing how much the coaches genuinely invested in every child made the decision an easy one. It didn't take long for me to realize that Alliance was exactly what I had been searching for.
From day one, everyone welcomed us with open arms. The people here are some of the best you'll ever meet. The coaches truly care about each student's growth on and off the mats. We are incredibly fortunate to be learning from some of the best instructors around, including Coral Belt Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva, one of the founders of Alliance and the inventor of the X-guard. All the coaches here are outstanding instructors whose passion for jiu-jitsu is evident every day.

Our daughter loves being here, and we've watched her grow in confidence, respect, discipline, and friendships through Jiu Jitsu. As for me, I've found a community that challenges me, supports me, inspires me to improve every day, and reminds me why I fell in love with jiu-jitsu in the first place.
This is home for us now, and we are truly grateful and blessed to be part of the Alliance family.
